Love the toma cheeses here! Soft Italian cow cheese, and I see the cows grazing at Point Reyes every time I hike in the area. I know those cows are happy because it's always either raining or there's a thick marine layer near the ocean, the grass is green all year, and I never not see the cows grazing outside. I mean their grazing land is enormous and goes on for an eternity for just all of maybe a dozen cows, if even that many. I like their plain toma, but their tomarashi cheese is quite the innovation. Japanese-style Italian cheese. Goes well with a plate of pasta and alla vodka sauce. Also great to add to a baguette to make a sandwich. The key to the flavor is Shichimi Togarashi, a Japanese spice blend containing chili flakes, nigella, chili powder, orange peel, ginger powder and nori. So good!

We got the tip to come here while wine tasting in Sonoma, and what a find! We have been backroads exploring and cheese tasting throughout the area, and this is a very unique spot. (Note it's open Saturday, but closed on Sundays.) The tasting room is a somewhat treacherous drive down a narrow private road. You may pass a tractor with a working dairy ranch hand, or have to gingerly pass another vehicle, so you need to be very confident in your driving skills. Once here, you can sample their cheese (self-service) and make selections. Their Toma cheese comes in many flavors (try the truffle and Japanese spice) and their soft cheese (Quinta) is nutty and delicate. Their blue cheese is renowned for being creamy and sweet. Try them all. They sell bread and NA beverages, if they aren't full with reservations (which will automatically get your party a table) then you are welcome on the patio to enjoy your cheese with your friends, if a picnic table is free. Insight into a working dairy farm, complete with real farm smells. An authentic, yet up-leveled experience in their retail space.

Beautiful place to spend an afternoon cheese and drinks meal. Don't be fooled by the long and windy road to the farm. Their road signs will let you know you're almost there. The place had great views. If you want to check out the cows you'll pass by their area. My visit was a Saturday late morning. There was a long line to get a table. I headed to the store for cheese and drinks to take with me. Small store with some items to take with you. I bought cheese platter and drinks. Also bought a small insulated bag. The staff was so nice to also give me some cooling pack to keep my cheese cold. Just beware: no phone signal but they have limited wifi in the store. Would love to come again with friends.

I love this cheese farm. We reserved online to do the cheese tasting. Best date by far! Service was amazing, they even wrote down our anniversary. We were able to walk around the garden, see baby cows and enjoy the outdoor space. Everything was made very special. Do note that you might lose phone service.

This was my third farm brunch at Point Reyes Farmstead. The experience is not cheap and it is certainly worth every penny. The brunch begins with unlimited cheese. You help yourself and it is impossible to decide which cheese is your favorite. What stood out to me this year was the way in which the cheese was paired with fruits, nuts, spreads that enhance the flavor profile of the cheese. Example- blue cheese paired with a gingerbread cookie star *mind blown* The menu always begins with an assortment of baked goods, followed by a salad, then an egg dish, and dessert. Every course features their cheese. The baked goods assortment this year was Cinnamon Swirl Apple Bread + Whipped Clover Butter (GF), Savory Garden Squash & TomaRashi Rolls, Roasted Frog Hollow Pear and Chocolate Scones (GF). The scones were the standout. My favorite dish of the day was Star Route Lettuces with Roasted Apple Vinaigrette & Original Blue Delicata Squash, Pears, Pomegranate & Pepitas. I asked if I could have the chefs salad dressing recipe and was shocked to learn that it was simply Apple cider vinegar mixed with their blue cheese. *chefs kiss* The entree was Wild Mushroom, Greens & TomaProvence Frittata, Garden Herb Salsa Verde Autumn Vegetable Hash and Caggiano Country Breakfast Sausage. I thought the frittata was very bland which makes sense because Toma is my least favorite cheese they offer. A spicy salsa would have saved this dish. Dessert was Maple Panna Cotta + Whipped Clover Cream and Maple Pecan Cookie Crumble (GF). By this time the rain started falling and many guests finished their dessert and left quickly. We waited for the gift shop to clear out before we bought a bunch of cheese, almonds, Jams to take home. Thank you to this gem of a family owned business! We can't get enough and we were thrilled to learn that they will be offering tastings on the farm for the holidays. Stay tuned cheese fans!

What a wonderful experience! We lucked out on a sunny October day. The cheese tasting was delicious! I loved the spreads and the Quinta. The grilled cheese was good, made with an olive tapenade. The home made ice cream sandwich was well worth the order, but make sure you save room for it, it's huge! The servers were excellent. They had great recommendations and thoughts on the cheese. They even broke up the tasting with a history of the dairy. Very educational! Beware, there are several insects buzzing about. Be prepared to defend your food. I can only imagine how difficult this can be during the summer. Despite this, the dairy is beautiful. You're sitting outdoors and you become really immersed in the setting. Remember to book in advance and secure that reservation to guarantee such a wonderful experience.

Amazing! Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese was one of four creamery/dairies we visited on a roadtrip from SF to PDX. Before we got our platter we ordered a grilled cheese sandwich- it was amazing. Then the even better cheeseboard arrived. There must have been 10-12 cheeses to try, along with all the crackers, bread, etc. you'd want alongside. THEN they brought out four more cheese dips to try. SO MUCH CHEESE TO TRY!! Overall incredible cheese tasting experience. Lovely patio (with blankets to stay warm!), friendly and knowledgeable servers & hostess. Drive by the cows and beautiful views on the way in. Exceptional.

What a lovely experience. The atmosphere was very nice you almost forget that you're on a farm. Staff was so nice and informative. They were able to explain the history of everything and answered all our questions. Cheese was excellent. Had such a great variety of cheese and other things to go with them. We ordered the grilled cheese and Mac and cheese in addition to the cheese plate and it was amazing. Getting to the farm was easy, the entire road is paved but it's just one lane and plenty of parking up at the building. Overall a wonderful experience and would highly recommend for any cheese lover.
